SEDL and its subcontracting partner, the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities at the University of Central Florida (UCF CARD), conduct multi-faceted dissemination activities to encourage utilization of research findings from the VR Autism project. Goals

D.1 To increase awareness of best evidence in VR of people with ASD
D.2 To increase awareness of current effective practice in promoting successful employment of people with ASD
D.3 To increase awareness of efficacy of Florida state system (CARD) as model for other states
D.4 To increase awareness of factors associated with consumer success in obtaining and maintaining employment

Activities

D.1 To increase awareness of best evidence in VR of people with ASD

SEDL will develop and disseminate evidence-based information resources and user-friendly summaries on employment interventions for people with ASD. Evidence-based information will be based on the systematic reviews conducted as part of project’s research activities on VR System Characteristics and Interventions, and School to Work Transition.

D.2 To increase awareness of current effective practice in promoting successful employment of people with ASD

SEDL will produce and disseminate effective practice profiles, catalogs of best practices, and webcasts that are generated from research on Effective Practices Model Identification in Vocational Rehabilitation. The dissemination will include in-depth profiles of effective practices.

D.3 To increase awareness of efficacy of Florida state system (CARD) as model for other states

SEDL will produce and disseminate technical reports, scholarly articles, plain language summaries, webcasts, and specific practice profiles of UCF CARD network practices and associated outcomes. This dissemination activity is intended to increase awareness and encourage utilization of research findings on the CARD network approach.

D.4 To increase awareness of factors associated with consumer success in obtaining and maintaining employment

SEDL will produce and disseminate case study reports and profiles to highlight real-world examples of consumers with ASD and their successes and challenges. Profiles will be generated from research conducted at UCF-CARD.
